The growth of an individual in terms of its educational, social and behavioral development can be affected because of family relationships. First is the educational aspect, wherein a study shows that 85% of the students living in an intact biological family graduate from high school compared from the 67.2% of students who lived with a single parent. This means that adolescence with good family relationship has a bigger chance to graduate from high school. Second is social development—according to Pickhardt in his article, ''Parental Divorce and adolescents'' that was published in Psychology Today, that teens from broken families might develop a cynical attitude toward relationships and harbor feelings of mistrust, both toward their parents and potential romantic partners. Hence, it clearly implies that children with broken family is having a hard time trusting others and it is difficult for them to seek positive social interactions and engage in developmentally beneficial activities. Lastly, the behavioral development, according to a study 50.2% of students living with a single parent got suspended or expelled in school. And this indicate that a number of students with a broken home have a greater chance of having behavioral problems.
To sum up everything, having healthy and blissful family is what everyone’s dream. But many could not be succeed it. And due to different problems, the healthy families have been broken up as well. Hereafter, this affects the growth of our educational, social, and behavioral development. To begin with, educational development this area focuses on achievement in our studies. Consequently, social development aims on our relationship with other people. Lastly is behavioral development that emphasizes on our growth in behavioral aspect. This signifies that good family relationship gives adolescents a better future.
