Siegel,’ has executed to be Alex’s partner in this case study. After many investigations, many executions from both Kyle, and the two boys Mitch and Denny, Alex cannot seem to find a connection with his investigations. He can’t seem to find the link between each incident, to hint at possible criminals. He is hungry for help. At this point of the story, Mitch and Denny steal a computer from a teenager, in use to write an email to the Washington newspaper. This is known to be the biggest mistake by the two teens. They revealed their anonymous identity. This was the turning point Alex was looking for. As a result of this, Max, Alex, Sampson (Alex’s best friend and co-worker), search for the two boys like a wolf pack searching for prey. Alex was thirsty for evidence. A lead that would get him somewhere in this case. As Mitch and Denny dump the Suburban in water, to destroy any evidence of their suspicious behaviour. At this point of the plot, I was taken-back, at the amount of action. Normally having too much action bores my eyes. But the way James Patterson has done it, is really admirable. I’ve only seen Matthew Reilly write action-thriller’s anywhere near on-par with James Patterson. I just seem to love his style of writing. It suits me.
I personally felt that this book was a very welcoming start to the mystery-thriller genre. The Alex Cross series is not for the faint of heart. The murder scenes can be pretty gory and grisly, but personally, I’ve never had any problems with it. You never know what happens next, which will always make you want to read more. His writing is crisp, structured, and you always find yourself tearing through pages up, to see half the book already gone past. Personally, I adore these kind of books! This effective use of intensity made it one of the best action-thriller books I have ever read.
