Lastly the learning and growth perspective, it focus on how Proton continue improve, create value and innovate their product. Saiful find that this perspective also shows poor performance as Proton unable to create value rather than imitating the imported cars only. Proton fails to create their design in order to capture market. Proton had sent their employees to learn from the international car maker like Mitsubishi but it does not really help as the employee still unable to learn whole things. Now, Proton cannot compete with fast changing and advanced engineering technology. Then, these show poor performance for the learning and growth perspective of the Proton.

CONCLUSION

I suggest Mitsubishi to avoid deal with Proton as their performance was very bad at all perspectives. Mitsubishi would not gain anything with the investment or collaboration with Proton. Furthermore, it will very difficult to deal with Proton as it tied by the government National Automotive Policy. Proton cannot survive without government protection as to the introducing of National Automotive Policy which made cheaper to import car to Malaysia by enjoying the drop in import taxes to 5% from 15%. However, Proton cannot benefit from this if the liberalization and globalization impose to our nation. Liberalisation in Malaysia defined as a process whereby measures are taken to expand market access to foreign services providers or to diminish discrimination against them to the domestic suppliers. Globalisation in Malaysia is the process of integrating nations and politically, economically, and culturally into a larger community.

IMPLEMENTATION

As we know, Malaysian love to buy imported products rather than local products because it more prestige, high quality and well design for them. Therefore, I suggest Mitsubishi build a factory in another country whereby the cost will be lower such as Thailand and Indonesia to make their own car. Then, import it to Malaysia as Malaysian will buy imported cars compared to the local car.
