Furthermore, we’ll also be covering a night time radio talk show with a celebrity or a national athlete, who will have a Mi Watch as a gift and they will talk about their first-hand experience on the product. The customers can change their evaluation after their favorite celebrity talks about the product.

5.0 Personal Selling

Personal selling is defined as the personal presentation of firm’s sale force to build a strong customer relationship. In order to promote Mi Watch, our company will hire more sale personnel with vast knowledge and experience for the smart electronics. Sale people will have to meet our qualification criteria to get the job. Firstly, they will then go through sales training. The training will take two weeks since the smartwatch has various functions. We will teach sale personnel to know every aspect of the watch, so they can answer all queries that customers will have.

Then the sale person will be assigned to various Xiaomi’s Sale showrooms and authorized dealers. At the authorized dealers, they will explain and teach the employees at dealer shops about for 2 weeks. We’ll have more people giving out flyers and information at public places. As for compensation, the employees will receive a fixed salary monthly. As an incentive, our company will give 25% to the employee with most sales annually. They will also receive 8% for every sale they made and can be collected at end of every quarter. We’ll employ a manager with more skill and experience to supervise the sale personnel. He will then report back to us and we will evaluate the pros and cons. The salespeople who did well will get rewarded and the manager will motivate the people that need improvement.

6.0 Consumer Sales Promotion

Consumer sales promotion is a tool used to boost short-term customer purchasing or enhance long-term customer relationships. There are three types of sale promotion (consumer promotion, trade promotion, and business promotion) but we decided to prioritize consumer promotion. Our program will involve Discounts, coupons, and samples. We decided that promotions should be done during holiday seasons, such as Christmas and New Year. During the holiday season, people will have more incentive to buy gifts. There will be coupons in the newspapers or magazines at the start of the holiday seasons. Customers can cut off a coupon piece and bring it with them for purchasing a Mi Watch. With the coupon, customers will receive 30% off its original price.

The promotion coupons will be available on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. Any customer interested in the promotion can redeem their promotion code online and buy them via online stores. With purchase of every 2 Mi watch (worth $500), customer will receive a free Mi Power Bank 100400mAh as a gift. Customers who aren’t satisfied with Mi Watch can bring it back to the store within 5 working days. We will refund 80% of the store bought price. The promotion also covers an extra 6 months warranty. Duration of the promotion will depends on holidays but they usually last for two to three weeks.

8.0 Conclusion

In conclusion, smartwatches are now available from other producers such as Apple and Samsung, it will be harder for Mi watch to penetrate the market. Even as third largest distributor of smart technology, we will still have a hard time. So, we decided to use A.I.D.A model with four promotional tools. Advertising, Public Relations, Personal Selling and Consumer Sales Promotions.

Firstly, we’ll use Advertising to raise awareness for the product and get people to know more about Mi Watch. Then public relations campaigns to create a positive image towards the product and the company. We will apply personal selling to increase the customer’s interaction with Mi Watch and highly skilled sale personnel will answer all their queries. Finally, we can create consumer sales promotion events for consumers to enjoy shopping our new product and increase sales temporarily.
