1.1.4 Technology:

The technology factor is one of the most important factors that affect the business which related to development and presence of technology. Therefore, technology factors are variables which reated to the development, availability and existence of the technology, the technology factor help the business to gain the competitive advantages.

Because of the comfortable financial position in Saudi Arabia so the country has rapid growth in technology side. Therefore, according to the latest available technology in Saudi Arabia the food manufacturing has improve it, the technology improvement play a key factor in the food manufacturing by the quality and quantity of the production as well help to assess the product. Also, Halawani Bros. they have the advantage to improve the technology of the processing food, packaging and logistics. Saudi Arabia has attract investors to invest or extend their business because of technological development in the country. Halawani Bros. Extend their manufacture and increase the production and look for new industry complex which will need modern food processing technology, since technology advance help to produce and reach to the consumer in easier and new methods, the technology development in Saudi Arabia influence on the manufacturing of Halawani Bros. products which help to produce more good quality that can compete the market. (George, 2015) (Data Monitor , 2010) (Halawani Bros Co., 2017).

Functional strategy:

The functional strategy is the plans by the company in order to prepare it for functional areas at the organization, so by key performance indicators (KPIs) the company can measure it’s the performance in certain areas of the business. Most types of the functional strategy are manufacturing strategy, human resources strategy, marketing strategy, financial strategy and R&D strategy (Shrm.org , 2017).

1.2.1 Manufacturing strategy:

This contained packaging facilities and integrated food processing. The company always develop its process to make new industry complex which is support the business growth of the company as well to serve the overseas market (Technology.com, 2017).

Manufacturing system: The industrial complex comprises all the modern facilities in order to bring the high quality of the products, comprises packaging and processing equipment, electromechanical works, industrial drainage, water desalination, refrigerators and boilers

Operation: The Company has a complex of the products industry, they have manufacturing system which divided to four sections 1- Halawa and tahini products, 2- Dairy and cheese products, 3- foods and jams products 4- meats products. Which sold in the market of Saudi Arabia and the major overseas market served by Halawani Bros to export to US and Europe (Technology.com, 2017).

1.2.2 Human resources strategy:

Halawani Bros has developed its human resources planning through encourage the employees in order to raise their talents and capabilities by set up a program for internal and external training, as well the Halawani Bros has program ‘ the employee of the month’ which used for rewarding a good staff by encourage them for training in order to have high qualification. The Malawian Bros has its own strategy to identify the training needs for the employees (Halawani Bros Co. , 2016).

Halawani Bros increased its budget for benefits, training and rewards for the employees, as in the 2015 and 2016 the company raised its employee’s benefits and rewards from 3,651,040RYS in 2015 to 4,103,322RYS in 2016 as well the expenses on training increases which effect on the company performance as the sales and income increased from 90,815,749RYS to 115,110,544 RYS in 2016 (Halwani Bros, 2016)

Halawani Bros planned for implementing new strategy for hiring and support the local employees and raise the percentage of them at the company by recruit them in the high position of the company, as well the company set up new program ‘ Benaa’ which identify the local employees who has talent and high skills, then combine those staff into incentive training program, then follow up with employees in order to solve all the challenges they faces and in the end prepare those employees to be in the new positions which meet their skills and talent (Halawani Bros Co. , 2016)
