3.0 CONCLUSION

The main goal of this was to determine whether there was a relationship between Organisational Structure and Culture and their influence on the motivation of individuals in organisations. It reveals that job performances will be determined by the level of motivation given by managers and corporate culture give considerably to the success of organisational objectives. It suggests that a bureaucratic structure has a negative effect on the motivation and satisfaction level of employees. “Supervision, in a bureaucratic structure is mainly power oriented and when that power is used to control and dominate subordinates it is often seen as negative” (Wallach, 1983), whereas contemporary cultures that encourage employee innovation and participation in decision making are positively related to job satisfaction. Also, organisations should do everything they can to establish a positive culture, because it works. The more employees are motivated the more they perform well and this increases the overall effectiveness or throughput of the organisation. Therefore, organisational structure and culture has got an impact on employee motivation and influences their overall performance.
