The contractor shall assist in resolving technical issues presented to the help desk. 5. Acceptance Criteria

- The government has signed a few management contracts in the water sector and a management contract for the Penang Bridge that obligates the private firms to invest RM500 million in improvements and repairs. The employer’s requirements set out the project needs in terms of specification, function and performance of the project required and if applicable will also define planning and any other restrictions.

- They must design and build contract documentation for the project. It divided into three categories which are the first category is condition of contract, technical proposal and drawings. The condition of contract includes five aspects (letter acceptance, employer’s requirements, contractor’s proposal, contract sum analysis (CSA), and form of design guarantee form). It has an efficient mass to strength ratio. Piles can be with stand higher tension forces which make them suitable for cater wind load & earthquake problem.

- Testing/qualification approach

- On the pile load test of Penang Bridge, 17 heavy trucks, each with an additional weight of 3.5 tons (59.5 tons in total), were arranged to run from Penang Island to the land side so as to ensure that the bridge with a 120 years’ guaranteed service life can load the theoretical weight. The test includes several modes, such as bridge center load and bridge edge load.

- In the test, the trucks ran on the main bridge in a line or in two lines to imitate the situations where the vehicles line up in case of traffic jams and where the large trucks cross the bridge side by side slowly. In this way, the load capacity of the main bridge was tested from all sides, which met the design standard. This comprehensively verifies the construction quality of the bridge and the technical strength of CHEC.
