Airlines Can Improve on More Effective Use of Mobile Tools
SWA has created a thorough marketing strategy leveraging mobile marketing tools and techniques to engage current and prospective customers that the Airline industry can learn from. Through my limited analysis, I found that some of the larger national brand airlines can improve customer engagement with more of a personal one-on-one customer first focus leveraging mobile techniques. These techniques include:
1. Make use of multiple opt-in and landing pages optimize for mobile use to educate customers on loyalty programs that are constantly changing. These programs should have images of customers using the program.
2. Use SMS or MMS links to push mobile commerce sites that sells inexpensive blankets, water bottles, other comfort items and deep discounts for service (taxis, hotels, Uber) during inclement weather where masses of people are grounded. Ensure that images of National brands capture employees serving people during these times on facebook, twitter, and other social platforms. This action provides a valuable service and may provide additional income. Mobile Marketing tools offers any industry the opportunity to meet customers where they are and provide an optimal service.
