Take that are an English pop group comprising of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams. Their music was greatly received by the UK music lovers alone due to Take That having 27 top 40 singles and 16 top 5 singles, 11 of this reached number 1. Every album they have released has also gone to no1. Their success in the UK can also be seen across the world due to the 54 number 1 hits and 35 number 1 albums internationally.

Their road to success started in the 90’s, which led to them having two of the best selling albums of the decade (Everything Changes and Greatest Hits).

The band did suffer a break-up in 1996 due to Robbie Williams leaving the band but they came back in 2005 as a four-piece band with the release of Never Forget, which I had the chance to do a reunion tour. In 2010 the whole band got back together to preform their single “shame” and they hiatus since October 2011 but they are currently writing their next album.

Digital technology helped them relaunch their career and promoted them through adverts, billboards and TV commercials and also Internet advertisements. Their Facebook page 1.89million and on Twitter they have 398,000 followers. This allows them to stay connected with their fans and give them gratification to know that they are doing and when they are going to be releasing their next single, album or tour. Their music video “shine” was a great release as it he song went on to win the British single of the year award at the 2008 BRIT Awards. The single entered the UK Singles Chart at #84, and made its official debut to the charts at #30 the following week, three weeks before its physical release. It reached number one on 4 March 2007, staying two weeks at the top. The single peaked at number two on the download chart. During its first week at the top of the UK Singles Chart, the single rose from #20 to #2 on the Irish Singles Chart. The music video presents a brighter future for take that with the white clothes, and the great grand staircase. It presents that they have a huge future ahead of them. With the high key lighting and settings it presents the band as ambitious. The flood was released in 2010 and the music video presents the band as trying to get back on track, and trying to push their careers aspects forward and to regain their title as a band with a bright future. The song was placed on the Radio 1 A Playlist for a number of weeks after its first play on radio in early October. The band appeared on X Factor result show 6 to perform "The Flood" live for the first time on 14 November, it was also the first time they had performed as a five piece in 15 years. They also performed it on Children in Need and closed the show with number 1 single "Never Forget". They also performed "The Flood" on Strictly Come Dancing and Dance avec les stars. Then the sang it on the X Factor final on December 12, where they also sang their number 1 hit single "Never Forget" with the final three contestants. They closed the Royal Variety Performance with "The Flood", with their backing dancers representing the progress of man. By doing all this promotion it allowed take that for a chance to regain themselves and to gain a wider fan base.

Digital Technology allowed for all three celebrities to gain a wider fan base, which allowed their popularity as musician to grow. IT allowed for great quality sound tracks and adverts on HD devices. Technology helped create the quality of their music possible and for them to share their talents with the rest of the world. Cameras and effects allowed for entertaining music videos and the development of a 21st century music video and the visual effects support the track better visually.
