tone. The dynamics in this piece were very sudden. There were about one or two gradual crescendos but other than that the dynamics were sudden and from very great volumes to very soft volumes. I still feel they should have had more energy in the dynamics before the clarinet solo. To conclude this piece was very nicely played but lacked some passion and energy within the players at the beginning. Eventually the orchestra brought up the energy and played the final movement perfectly and very excitingly to leave us with an incredible final movement to an incredible performance by the NAC orchestra.

In my opinion, the stage presence for this concert was very organized and formal. The stage presence included the violins, violas, and cellos in a semicircle in front of the conductor and the winds section behind the strings facing the audience and the double basses in the very back. The stage presence for this concert was formal and very organized because we had nobody in the orchestra facing away from the audience. This creates a connection between player and audience member, and also makes the audience members more involved in the music. Also I especially enjoyed the stage presence of the solo cellist Stephan Detro because of the way he makes eye contact with the audience and with the violins. Stephan understands he is an important factor in this performance and he could make or break this performance. Not only did Stephan played marvellously, he created an incredible connection with the audience by maintaining eye contact and to me that but the performance up 2 levels. The venue was amazing also. The lighting was perfect and the room was very large making it a little more difficult for the performers to play because in a larger venue the preforms have to project more than they would usually have to in their practice. To conclude, the stage presence and the venue were absolutely amazing for the occasion.

All in all, this was a wonderful concert full of mysterious, joyful, and elegant pieces performed by many talented musicians. There were absolutely no rhythmic mistakes and the articulation was flawless. The dynamics in all three pieces, especially the first 2 pieces and the final movement of the last piece, were very precise and tight within the whole orchestra. The performers put an incredible amount of energy in their playing (except for the first 3 movements of the final piece) and I appreciated that effort from each and every one of them. They all worked extremely hard and I hope that in their minds they know that they have succeeded, because in my mind they surpassed the limits and went above and beyond my expectations. Attending this concert was a magnificent experience and I really loved watching professional musicians play their hearts out and listening to the brilliant music they created. I would really enjoy going to many other concerts with the NAC performers because they showed me that they are incredible. Attending this concert also makes me want to practice more consistently, because if I want to make a living in music then I need to practice more and try to exceed my limits.
