Chili is which is spelled differently in many regions chili, chile, and chilli. The term chili in most of the world refers exclusively to the smaller hot types of capsicum. It is a hot pepper. Eventhough chilis maybe though as vegetable, their culinary usage is, a generally spice, the part of the plant that is usually harvested is the fruit. Researchers used capsaicim from chillies to kill the nerve cells in the pancreas of mice. And Chili also contains hotness which can kill cockroaches.

Background of the study

The chili pepper, or suing labuyo as many of us know it, is a favorite spice of many people around the world, including Philippines. There are people who cannot eat anything without the taste of a real hot pepper. Pepper has been found to have a rich vitamin A and C contents. Here in Philippines, even the leaves of the chili pepper are eaten as a vegetable.

The goal of this research is to know what will be the the use of chili as pesticide. A pesticide is any agent used to kill or control a pest. Pest includes insects, weeds, and diseases, such as fungi. When pest damage plants or property, people often use pesticides to control them.

Pesticides also include substance such as attractants, herbicides, plant defoliants, desiccants, and plant growth regulators. If this research proves to be successful there can now be an alternative solution in controlling or killing pest.

- Statement of the problem

The study aims to seek answer to the following:

- What are the properties of chili that can be use as pesticide?

- What is the difference of the chili substitute pesticide from the local pesticide brand?

- What are the different effects of the chili pesticide mixture compared to the local pesticide brand?

Hypotheses

NULL HYPOTHESIS:

There is no significant difference between the chilli fruit pesticide and the commercial pesticide.

OPERATIONAL HYPOTHESIS:

There is significant difference between the chilli fruit pesticide to the commercial pesticide.

Significance of the study

Students taking agriculture. The can benefit from this because this will provide them advance knowledge and backgrounds on the effect of chili as a substitute to the local pesticide brand. Having advance knowledge will help them not to be confused about the effects of the chili pesticide mixture.

Teachers teaching agriculture. This study will help them to know and understand the effects of the chili pesticide mixture. This research may help them to know the effects of the mixture to some pest and plants. The Researchers thought that if this study would be successful, it would be helpful in the community in preventing harmful diseases from insects, also in a way that it would be natural

Farmers and Agriculturist. This study will help them know what effect the mixture will do to the plants and pest (Cockroach, termites, etc...) and this will also help them know what will be the difference of the chili pesticide mixture substitute and the local brand pesticide.

Future Researchers. They would benefit from this study if they will conduct the same investigation because this can be serve as their basis and will provide them ideas and information about the study.

Scope and Delimitation:

The study was limited on what kind of pests will be used it is only the cockroach. It is also limited the expiration date of the chili pesticide because it take days or weeks to produce a bad smell.

The chili pepper is only common chili peppers that can be bought in the market. The researchers will test the effectiveness of the chili pesticide mixture by using it to a common house pest such as cockroaches. There will be at least 2 trials using the chili pesticide mixture and the local pesticide brand to 3 cockroaches. They would compare their findings for a day or more.

A Pesticide chemical can rarely be used as originally manufactured. The pesticide must be diluted with water, oil, air, or chemically inactive solids so that it can be handled by application equipment and spreas evenly over the area to be treated. A single pesticide is often sold in several different formulations. The applicator should choose the formulation that will best hs requirements for a particular job. Considerations in making choice include effectiveness against the pests, habits of the pest, animal or surface to be protect. The final product is called a pesticide formulation and is ready to use either as packaged or diluted with water or other carriers.
