V. Implementation

Atomic products will be awarded the contract only after a clean room has been designed and setup that meets our stringent design standards. Once this is created our engineers will verify and sign off on the project. Second the inbound materials used for our project must be properly identified and tagged to ensure the correct products are making into our pressure vessel.

Appendix:

- What specific areas and activities should the oceanic group have investigated on its two visit? A possible site for a clean room, quality control department, incoming materials area, production equipment.

- Evaluate each supplier on each of the above items using information obtained on the field visits? Atomic products did not have the facilities indoors to create a clean room, recommending using a lean to the outside one of their buildings. It is possible that this could have met the standards but seem to be thrown together. In regards to nuclear vessel, they had the indoor space to create a clean room. The quality control department of both companies is essential to the final product meeting our stringent demand. Atomic products had a well-staffed and up-to-date equipment and the quality control department. While nuclear vessels had an excellent quality control department but also embedded members from every aspect of production to oversee the project day-to-day. The incoming materials area for both companies were functioning while nuclear vessels had a very organized system and tag every incoming piece of material to the project it was designed for. While atomic products did not have a superb organization process for these materials. In regards to production equipment, nuclear vessels had fewer as well as older equipment; this equipment have been proven to create a larger vessel. While atomic products have a vast amount of brand-new equipment and very well-maintained shop.

- Based on the face value with a written plan, which company appeared to submit a better offer? The proposal off a face value based on price alone would appear to be atomic products that offered a total price of $1,232,000 which was 328,000 less than nuclear vessel. However based on experience nuclear vessel has created a vessel the size required at atomic products did not. In regard to the organization atomic had 2000 employees while nuclear vessel guaranteed a member from supply, explaining, quality control, production without one man assigned to fall this project from start to finish and had the records available for review. The delivery aspect was pretty much the same. In regards to the guarantee, atomic products will guarantee workmanship and material while nuclear vessel guarantee workmanship.

- Based on a proposal plus information obtained from the case history, which company is likely to be a better supplier? Based on my findings I believe that atomic products can provide the required item both cheaper as well as all in-house. Even though they have not created the vessel as large as now I feel they have the tools and equipment to do so. The only real issue I see a clean room which I think can be solved relatively straightforward. They also guarantee workmanship and materials

- What do you recommend? I recommend atomic products with the guidelines they must create a clean room that meets the stringent standards prior to the wording of the contract.
