Since ISIS has begun to control most of Iraq and Syria there has been a large drop in gas prices in the world. This has a direct correlation with ISIS controlling several key oil refineries and oil fields in Iraq and Syria. Once in the possession of ISIS they will take the oil barrels and supply at the refinery and pawn it off for less than market value which in turn affect the global price of gas. This is because the big oil companies notice that if they can not compete with the low prices ISIS is selling their oil for, they will be losing money to those countries who are willing to buy from ISIS. Along with their ransoming of oil barrels they are also capitalizing off of one of the most heinous crimes in the world… human trafficking. When ISIS overtakes towns and villages, they round up all Yazidi women, no matter their age, and sell them across their reach to the highest bidder. The conditions that these women live in are so horrible that when one finally snuck in a phone call it was to the US government. According to Independent Journal Review, the woman had begged.
“If you know where we are, please bomb us. There is no life after this. I’m going to kill myself anyway. Others have killed themselves this morning. I’ve been raped 30 times and it’s not even lunch time. I can’t go to the toilet. Please bomb us.”
This shocking call shows the desperation that these poor Yazidi women face when ISIS invades.
In conclusion, once the facts have been presented it is easy to see the distinct differences between the Taliban and ISIS and which one is the true embodiment of evil. ISIS has always been about ruling with pure terror. The more the progress as a nation, the list of rape, abuse, and genocide victims grows substantially. Where as the Taliban have continuously proved that they work within the best interest of their country. Through the killings of corrupted officials who fight for sick and perverse things, they have shown where their loyalties lie in accordance to the wellbeing of their country.
