Notes about the group project:
- The presentation is to be prepared/delivered in groups (around 3 students in each group).
- Students are required to submit two documents to the instructor, i.e. 1) an essay (2000 words or so), and 2) a powerpoint file for presenting the essay. The two documents (either their hard copy or soft copy or both) must be submitted to the instructor for grading prior to or at the beginning of the presentation seminar.
- Students will choose their own topic for the project. The presentation/essay could be an in-depth analysis of a psychological phenomenon discussed in the textbook or a critical elaboration of a core concept/theory in the textbook. Students are expected to demonstrate a sound understanding of the presented topic. They should also properly refer to current studies that are relevant to their topic.
- A short essay generally consists of the following parts:
- A brief introduction of the topic;
- A brief section of literature review;
- An explanation of your own arguments with possible comments on relevant theories/ideas;
- Conclusion; and
- Bibliography
5. All students are required to attend the presentation seminar. The attendance will count for 20% of the grade of the presentation.
