the sexual harassment, rape and robbing and all news bring a poor impression for the Pakistanis. In additional, people always said Pakistanis like eating curry which make them smell, also they may think Pakistanis are not clean enough regarding to their skin color; in some extreme case, people may refuse to sit beside them and want to have a distance with them.
Differences between Hong Kong and Pakistan
Religion
In Hong Kong, it is welcome to have different religions such as catholic, Christian, Buddhism, Muslim etc. In conclude, it doesn’t forbid any religions. However, Pakistan is the Muslim majority country, most of the people are belonging to the Muslim. As a result, there is Muslim Mosque in Hong Kong for people to worship.
Food and eating habits
As Hong Kong is belonging to China, people also have rice as their major food and using chop stick for having meal as usual. When comparing to Pakistan, people used to have Chapati as their main food which can bring them enough energy which rice is not enough to satisfy them. Besides, Pakistanis would like to use hands for having meals that not similar to Hong Kong people.
Living place
Hong Kong is as small as a dot in the map but with 7 million populations, as a result the place for living must be not with many spaces, which the per capita area is about 200m square. However, there is lots of land in Pakistan so people in there have larger area in their home which is 4-5 times than in Hong Kong. Besides, as a result Pakistanis may find the house in Hong Kong is not large enough for them and feel uncomfortable.
My opinion towards the adaption of Pakistanis
Pakistanis have done their very best to adapt the living in Hong Kong. Firstly, they learn Cantonese which is the regional language of Hong Kong as a result it will be more convenient for them to communicate and social with others who are not Pakistanis. Secondly, they also try different traditional food in Hong Kong such as dim sum and rice, although these food are not enough portion for them to be full, they still appreciate to them. Despite of the fact that they try to adapt our living style, something such as flavor and religion can never be adapted easily. Besides, more and more Pakistanis choose to send their kids to traditional school which use Cantonese as a mother language to teach, as they want their children integrating with Hong Kong people and know more about Hong Kong culture which will smoothen their future development.
