The purpose of this project is to address / solve a strategic business issue / problem. You should explain the reason(s) for choosing your organization and provide a thorough strategic analysis and make feasible recommendations. Some exemplary questions include:

- How does company ABC maintain its competitive advantage in the electronics industry?

- How to increase company ABC’s market share in the China market?

- Should company ABC enter smart phone industry?

- Should company ABC expand to the Vietnam market?

- Is ABC’s success specific to the China market?

... ...

Feel free to choose any company from my list. One company can only be chosen by one group. This will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Please confirm your choice of company by Week 5. If you would like to write about a highly diversified firm, I suggest you have a focus of industry in your analysis. Depth is more important than breadth.

Irrespective, the submission should be double-line spacing and printed on both sides of the A4 paper (with 1 inch margins, font size 12). Your report should NOT exceed 30 pages, including Reference List, Tables, Charts and Appendices. Quality is more important than quantity of work. You should also bear in mind that a good report is clear, well written, comprehensive, and presents its material to inform and educate the reader. At the end of the day, we are looking for

(1) how well you identify the strategic issues,

(2) the depth of your strategic analysis using the various strategic tools and techniques,

(3) whether your recommendations follow through logically from your level of analyses (are they consistent, logically linked, creative, innovative, set new rules and boundaries…) and

(4) whether you have carefully thought through how they will be implemented and evaluated to achieve sustained competitive advantage for that organization.

Marks awarded for the group Case Study Analysis will be the SAME MARK for each group member. My grading criteria can be found on page 6 (Group Project Comment Sheet).
