Lastly, what are black lies? “Black lies are primarily focused on protecting the interests of the liar. They cause harm, and they are not socially acceptable. Black lies are frequently told to hide wrong-doing and to protect the liar from trouble likely to arise if the full truth were known about a core secret or secrets.” I completely oppose this type of lies since it causes negative consequences and harmful. Black lies can easily become a habit as it more easily to break the rules rather bend the rules. It can be seen that in dangerous circumstances, people always try to protect themselves from bad results that can harm their job, their lives, or their benefits. Most obviously that we can see from everyday at work of managers, since not all managers are leaders so for example, whenever a mistake has been made, immediately, the manager usually claims the mistake to the employees and not himself/herself. It is just to protect their pride and intentionally leave a negative impact on his employees. They can be disciplined by reducing salary or bonuses.
In summary, telling lies are not encouraging but not all lies are bad. It depends on which circumstances and how we see things and judge others. It’s all about our perception of life, and our personalities will somehow lead us to become a good or a bad person. I still think telling white lies are fine. However, we should control it and avoid making us become a dishonest person. As concluded in the blogger’s article, “the truth matters; and, bar white lies, the truth is expected.”
