Nippon Paint (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has involved and organised several corporate service relationship project in several places. Nippon Paint (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd previously developed a notable corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme called “Colourful Dreams”, which aims to transform children homes across Malaysia. It was organized with the theme 'Create Joy Today, Hope for Tomorrow'. Working together with not-for-profit welfare organisation, Persatuan Kebajikan Generasi Gemilang (PKGG), 'Colourful Dreams' was initiated to arrange for a safe and conducive environment for children in charity home through physical makeovers. Two of the homes involved in this project are The Pure Life Society and Rumah Juara. During those visits, the volunteers on behalf of Nippon Paint do their best in transforming the home. As the result, the home finally got a new fresh look with a new coat of paint. Besides that, there also painted some murals which give a more cheerful and colourful look to the home. Other than that, the homes also were given the necessary repair work and furniture refurbishment. Before ended the project in these two homes, Nippon Paint took an initiative to conduct some activities for the children there.
The first activity was Mural Art workshop which aims to develop the art skill of the children and instil the appreciation towards art among them. Second is the ThumbPrintz workshop to help the children develop a sense of self and to recognise their significance and uniqueness in their own ways. After that, there are also ‘Colourful Reads’ and ‘Colourful Picasso’ workshops which focus on reading and drawing respectively, aimed at building greater confidence and self-worth of underprivileged children from these homes. The ‘Colourful Reads’ programme is a platform for underprivileged children aged between 7 to 12 years old to discover the joy of reading, express their understanding through colours and arts and cultivate good values through story-telling. Under the Colourful Reads programme, Nippon Paint aim to contribute to the emotional and motivational aspect of the children living in these homes. Colourful Picasso on the other hand is a creative workshop that hopes to provide these children a creative outlet and stands as medium for creativity and self-exploration.
So here, Nippon Paint (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has done a really good job in contributing to the society and its CSR activities is apparently was a huge success and it should be taken as an example and motivation for other organization to involve too, in CSR. Nippon Paint’s efforts in and commitment in meeting the social needs of the community were proven by its CSR activities. It has helped to improve the quality of life of underprivileged children. Its contributions undeniably reflect the value that it firmly upholds which is to give back values to the society. Above all, the practices of CSR activities bring a lot of advantages, not only for the organization and the company, but it also benefits the customer, stakeholder, and society. It basically benefits all member of society. Besides focusing on making profit, it is also important to socially contribute to the society and CSR is the best medium and platform for the organization to do so. It also encourages ethical values and instil the good vibes and spirit for the members of the organization and also for the members of society.
