Ahold Delhaize can further leverage its partnerships with some of its chefs and the online platforms via the use of notifications about when foods nearing expiration go on sale, and potential simple recipes for slow moving consumer goods, or alternately foods that are over-ripened for example. As an example, if they are over-ripened bananas, and Flour etc.…, Ahold Delhaize could use Mobile notifications based on geo-location, to drive traffic to its website via sending recipes for Banana bread to its consumers.
Secondly one of the most important key financial metrics for a retailer is revenue per square meter. Retailers are ranked and judged on the amount of revenue they are able to generate per square meter. This application can also be leveraged to sell products that are selling slower on discount, thereby allowing Ahold Delhaize, to replace the slow-moving consumer goods to the online platform and away from the store where the costs are significantly higher, thereby minimizing the costs of holding the stock on retail sites.
