How does the science discussed by Bawazer relate to Bronowski’s belief about science as imaginative and creative? Bawazer discussed genetically evolving high performing environmentally friendly new materials from DNA. The science involved is ingenious, risky, tedious and creative. Science is built around creativity and experimentation that essentially evolved from proven theories. Bawazer used the example of domesticated dogs that originated from wolves. From the wolf, the starting point, they were able to breed many species of dogs and each breed carried different variations of character. The imaginative side of this science is Bawazer and his team are essentially doing the same thing but on an entirely elevated level of ingenuity. Science should be based on creativity not just observing facts. Bronowski, in his Nature of Scientific Reasoning says, “There are discoveries to be made by snatching a small likeness from the air too, if it is bold enough…The progress of science is the discovery at each step of a new order which gives unity to what had long seemed unlike.” (Bronowski, 2000)

In conclusion, Intelligent Design is another scientific thought based on evolution and new research. Luke Bawazer and Darwin’s theory of natural selection do not necessarily correlate with each other and Intelligent Design could embrace such a solution that he is presenting. Bronowski’s belief about science being imagination driven and requiring creativity absolutely defines Bawazers new innovation.
