Another point is what is the better about the death penalty rather than just sending the criminal to prison for life? [d]In a way sending someone to prison for life is a worse punishment rather than capital punishment. This way they have to live in prison for the rest of their life with nothing to do but to think about what they did and nothing to put them out of their misery. The only bad thing about this is that prison these days in a nice place to live because criminals are living with free rent with a place to sleep and 3 meals a day; when we have people living on the streets with nowhere to sleep and struggling to get 1 meal a day. The government is putting more money into making sure that criminals have a place to live and food rather than trying to help the ones who have not broke the law that are living on the streets. [e]

Last one more point that I think he could have made is that there are always a chance of mistakes in a court case. In this instance they could have wrong evidence and send someone to the death bed when they did not commit the crime and where falsely accused. Overall Thurgood Marshall was against the death penalty because of three main reasons. These reasons where that it was unconstitutional, unmoral and that there are other punishments that do the same amount of punishing as capital punishment.[f]
