Uses: - this man/handmade craft was worn in every special occasion and ceremonies like wedding, funerals, coronation and it is a must for all Tongans to keep the sacredness of respect within the land perfect. It is worn to churches for it is the most important place to wear the “Ta’ovala” formally just like how we enter the Kings property, it is a must for you to wear a Ta’ovala. There is not limit of wearing the Ta’ovala from the past. But as to nowadays the wearing and use of Ta’ovala is not much used as it was back in the days of its first existence.

In every place, you go and what you do to react to the traditional way of living in Tonga is to respect this culture of wearing the Ta’ovala in the right place and time.

In ancient days, Ta’ovala was the only wearing of Tongan people used extensively for all occasions. In other reasons, they needed to show who they really are as it is their identity, being Tongans. They also provide it as a gift to appreciate the hardship of members that started it and why it is popular. This, had been established or made known by the King in the past, until today, it is still known as the Ta’ovala.

To conclude, all wearing’s of Tongans are important but to this specific kind of wearing which is the Ta’ovala in fact it is the most valuable and much more important wear by local people. It shows that there is no limit of wearing it, and it is to keep the sacredness of honouring in reaction, and to magnify one’s identity. I had a comparison of how Tongan people in the past and nowadays wear and value this valuable wear. It reflects out a sad feeling of how it was valued properly in the past than it is now in the present days, and it is not the same. This shows how slowly culture had been gradually fading away from the way it used to be back in the past.
