THE PACIFIC REGION

Pacific region of Colombia is in the west, bordering the Pacific Ocean, from which it takes its name. It is part of Choco and is divided into two main areas marked by Cabo Corrientes. It is bordered to the north with Panama, south of Ecuador, to the east by the Western Andes of Colombia and west by the Pacific Ocean. The main cities are Buenaventura, Tumaco and Quibdo. In it, the Tumaco-La Tolita culture developed.

It is a region with great ecological wealth, hydrographic, mining and forestal.Se considered one of the most biodiverse regions on the planet is also the main land of the Afro-Colombian culture and numerous American Indian tribes called "Choco".

VALLE CAUCA AND NARIÑO
