I quickly learned to set goals or judge myself, but I struggled in sticking to that. I’d find myself comparing my poses to someone more flexible or something and wanting to reach that point. I realized with acceptance that I am me and that my poses are perfect the way that they are as long as I am able to enjoy them for their purposes. And, without even focusing on my goals of improvement, I reached them anyway with my continuous practice.
If you could take one (or two) things from your learning in this class to apply to your overall well-being, what would it (they) be and why? How will you remember to apply this/these going forward? Min 60 words, max 130 words
Acceptance and gratitude are so important in every aspect of life. We all need to take a step back sometimes, even on our worst days and think: ‘This is what is happening, and I cannot change it. I am still thankful because there are so many people in this world that have it so much worse than I do.’ We all take so much for granted and yoga has helped me to appreciate all that I have and even all that I don’t. I have a wonderful family and great health, which is more than so many. I am so grateful.
Optional: Is there anything else you want to share about your experience thus far? Max 150 words.
Thank you, Mo, for building such a comfortable and accepting atmosphere in class. I have an entirely new appreciation for yoga and I have you to thank for that. Keep up the great work.
