The international policy decision as seen has proved to be very crucial in mitigating acts of violence and terrorism and is influenced by very many driving forces. These forces include; the massive loss of lives to warfare and conflict, the existence of fear that conflicts may not be resolved and may result in more negative consequences. The policy provides an opportunity for peaceful conflict resolution among or within states this applies in particular to the war between the Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo. Lastly, poor living conditions due to poverty brought about by poor governance. With political instability resulting from war among various countries, it is nearly impossible for economic development to take place resulting in poverty.

In conclusion, mitigating conflict, keeping peace and reconciliation war- torn States is one of the most convoluted challenges facing the international community, and a significant number of people die in armed conflicts among states. The United States military occupies a central and vital position in solving and mitigating international conflicts and their effects. The foreign policy has evolved and developed over time but the governing principles remain the same, and there are many international events that can be traced back to it. Various occasions or events in the US history that lead to the country's rise as a world superpower policeman and this has resulted in it to taking policing roles that are influenced by some factors.
