What Are the Archetypal Similarities Between Harry Potter and Frodo Baggins?

I think that there may be potential challenges with this topic. The most obvious is finding credible, scholarly articles and books to address my comparison. I do know that there are many books written on the similarities of the series’ as a whole, so I will get a chance to peruse those. I am confident that there are enough ways to explore the interactions between characters. I do understand that there will be many inferences and explanations from other characters to explain Harry and Frodo’s demeanor, actions, and other facts about them. I think that proving the importance of this question will be a challenge. I will not have the aide of statistics and analytical evidence to support my assertion. I do not regret this topic or question because I think there is ample material to work with, and I am excited to begin thorough research.

While I was doing preliminary research, I found several websites, articles and obviously books that solidified my decision to pursue this topic. I used, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, as my first two sources to explore. I also found an article, “10 Incredible Similarities Between Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings,” on the website whatculture.com written by Mark White. An article from the online newspaper, The Daily Dot, “Epic Analysis of Harry Potter Will Change What You Know About the Good Guys” written by Aja Romano. During a database search on Ebscohost, I found a piece written by, Shobha Ramaswamy titled, “Archetypes in Fantasy Fiction: A Study of J. R. R. Tolkien and J. K. Rowling.”
