I was surprised that she would give up a date who asked her in the way she wanted just for me. I was shook that she cared about my feelings over herself or his. Even though it’s not easy to see my friend going to prom with the guy I’m interested in, I had to handle things maturely. I responded to her saying our friendship won’t be over because of this and that they both are important to me and I hope they will have a good time at the dance.
It’s hard to deal with guy related issues and having a friend involved makes it ten times harder. I’ve seen and read these kind of stories but never thought that I would experience one myself.
What I learned from this is that, friendship is unbreakable when the two really care and trust one another from their hearts. Boys come and go but this kind of friendship don’t. It’s important to cherish what I have than holding on to what I don’t.
To all the girls out there who are going through similar situations as me, don’t let a boy control your friendships. If he can’t make you happy, he’s not the one and he isn’t worth your time. There is someone out there who will love you for who you are.
Boys better watch out because I’ll be with my girls on the dance floor having a blast without them at Prom.
