If our constitution, a greatly respected document that states our fundamental laws, rights, and ideals, specifically states that all men are to be created equal, then who are we to get in the way of Kaepernick in his fight against inequality itself.

As some see the broad stripes and bright stars of our nation’s flag basking and flowing in the wind, they feel a great sense of patriotism, while others such as Mr.Kaepernick, feel nothing but a sense of shame and sadness for those who are not treated equally in our country and for this reason choose to not participate in the national anthem. Therefore, Colin Kaepernick is right to not stand during the national anthem, as he is simply doing what is morally and ethically right in honor of these people. Chains clinking, the gruesome screams from innocent people as they are beaten, blood and sweat dripping down bodies, tears rolling down the faces of hundreds of thousands, constant fearfulness and the persistent feeling of inferiority to those who are merely a different skin color, is what everyday life used to be like for many Americans. Do you think you could last a day in their shoes? For this reason, we as Americans hold ourselves to a higher standard than we did in the past. For all the blood, sweat, and tears shed from our brethrens we must support Colin Kaepernick in his fight against racial inequality, not criticize him. Before you judge Colin Kaepernick know that true patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.
