Getting Hired

by saying how sub-woofers needed to be installed in the 2013 Escalade, and if I could do them and get them installed correctly, then I had the job. I couldn’t even believe it. I had put in sub-woofers in my car and many of my friends cars, so this would be a breeze, especially on a new vehicle. I started putting in the sub-woofers into the sub-woofer box, wiring the subs to four ohms, and then running the power wire, RCA cables, and the remote turn on wire to the back of the SUV, where the amplifier was located, and within about an hour, I had the sub-woofers thumping along to the music. Robert was amazed at how fast I had gotten the sub-woofers in the SUV and proceeded to tell me that next Monday would be my first day.

I couldn’t believe that I had gotten a job at a place that I would have never thought I could work at. After leaving GP Customs, I had a feel good sensation inside of me that I will never forget. It was a feeling like I had just ran a marathon and finished first place holding up the gold medal I had just received. I may not have been the best, but I sure knew working on cars was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life! That got me thinking about what college classes to take and what I should do to get me prepped for owning my own business.

That day was filled with so much excitement and joy, that Monday could not come soon enough. I couldn’t wait to see what projects I was going to be working on and all the knowledge I was going to be taking in. It wasn’t till that day getting hired at GP Customs that I knew working on high end cars, doing different types of customization’s, and owning a business just like GP is what I wanted to do as a career for the rest of my life. It was that moment in time that I made the decision to go into GP, and for that reason, I changed my life for the better. At that moment getting hired, I found what I loved doing, what my hidden skill was, and also a career that may last me a lifetime for me. I can’t wait to see what is in store for me next and where my life will take me from the decisions I have made.
