Actually, dumpster diving isn’t fit for everyone. It is a way of survival for person just like Eighner, and it is a solution to improve the poor people’s living standard, but it is definitely not a common way of life for general people. I speculate that most people may dislikes lifestyle like Eighne’sr. Dumpsters may be great treasures for Eighner, but it isn’t fit for others. “No matter how careful I am I still get dysentery at least once a month, oftener in warm weather,” Eighner said. Obviously, even if he avoided food he wasn’t familiar with and paid more attention to the food he eats, contaminated or discarded food still will be put into the mouth carelessly. Dumpster diving has serious weakness as a way of life. Eighner claimed, “I have learned that there is a predictable series of stages a person goes through in learning to scavenge.” I suspect that a rich person who can make a living by his abilities won’t go outside and search in the dumpsters. Just imagine, everyone in the world gives up their works and their studies and just wants to have a dumpster diving like Eighner. It will be a mess of the life.
