the police when he remembered what R.C told him that night concerning Emmett. R.C told Hiram that him and a couple other men were going to teach the black boy that was flirting with the white woman at the store a lesson. Then, in the article by: Richard Perez- Pena, Richard used a credible source which was the F.B.I. On the first page it says “…the F.B.I rediscovered the long- missing trial transcript.” So, by using the F.B.I as a credible source it makes the information in the article more legit. Secondly, Metress, also used a credible source which was, the county officials. Thirdly, Anderson’s credible source was the Look magazine on page 2 it says “Their story, which appeared in the Jan. 24, 1956, issue of Look magazine, contains gross inaccuracies.” All, four authors used credible sources to back up their trustworthy facts concerning the 1955 murder of Emmett Till.

The four authors then, capture the mood of the 1955, time period which is unfair! In the book, “Mississippi Trial, 1955” the author, Chris Crowe, implies that the mood was unfair by Hiram saying how the trial was unfair on page 196. Then, the author of the article, “Widow of Emmett Till killer dies quietly, notoriously” also has the mood of unfair. That is backed up by the evidence on page one that says “Clark Porteous of the Memphis press- scimitar said that the Juanita appeared ‘shocked by the proceedings’,…” So, not just Hiram was surprised about the court case. That especially proves that the case was unfair! Then, the other two articles also conveyed the mood 0f the articles by stating how unfair the case was.

To sum it all up, all four authors present the information in the article very well by incorporating the dates that have to do with the case, adding in extra details concerning the case that would definitely not slide by today, or even adding in things that don’t usually occur in this time period all result in how the authors present the information in the articles correctly. Then, all four authors use certain techniques to grab the reader’s attention such as, using organization, incorporating facts, or by including credible sources to show the significance of the case. The authors also capture the mood of the 1955 time period by telling the reader the dates and stating how unfair the case was. The articles and the book were all very similar concerning that they all revolved around one mood, capture the same techniques, and last but not least the authors all present the information very well!
