are many people who have simply been pushed through and out of the education system with less than they deserve, a proper education.

Sometimes failure is necessary in order to succeed, yet everyone overlooks the failure and stares straight at success. Failure is overlooked, and deemed as unacceptable when yet many people need to fail for them to understand what needs to be improved. Flunking is a very effective teaching tool. Just because a student fails does not mean that they haven’t learned anything, they just haven’t learned enough. Holding them back would allow for a complete review of material they have already familiarized themselves with, allowing the student to grasp an even better understanding than students who only reviewed the material one time.

Failure makes one work harder for what they want. Success isn’t just dropped in one’s lap, it is strived for. Some of the most successful individuals are often motivated by a time of great failure. Oprah Winfrey, a very popular talk show host, was first denied her request for air time. From her failure she was motivated to work her way up from the bottom to become the first African-American billionaire and also hosted one of the best talk shows known of today.

Learning how to accept failure can also be a character builder at an early age. When an individual fails they now know how it feels and can empathize with someone else who has not reached their goal. Failure can also be harsh on an individual’s ego, which is sometimes needed for someone to step back and evaluate why they are not quite achieving their goal.

Failure is necessary, it is a minor setback for bigger and better things to derive from. Not succeeding should not be looked at as a negative, it should be integrated into school systems as a necessary tool for advancement. If a goal is not reached the first time, step back, reevaluate, and try again until the results that are being looked for are achieved.
