same time.In the picture I am wearing my favorite outfit. A white and pink shirt that has gold studs, ruffled sleeves and the pattern of butterflies on it. Earlier in the day I had been wearing a pink studded jean jacket that is not shown in the photo. My pants were my favorite pair of bell bottom dark wash jeans that had pink studs along the high waist band which you can only the half on my right side because my shirt was being lifted up by me extending my hand to my ear. My was lighter then, a shade of blonde and the sunshine reflecting off of it gives it a golden glow . My hair is tied back into a high ponytail and my bangs hang over my forehead just above my eyebrows. I am on my dad’s old black Nokia cell phone which is in my right hand and my left hand was extended out waving at the camera. I am not smiling in the picture, the sun is in my eyes and I am squinting at my dad, a concerned look on my face. I loved my parents. They were my superheroes, and after all even though they weren’t around, they were my family.

Suddenly my mind snaps back and I am in the car again on the way to see my parents.The convertible top is down and hip hop music is blasting over the sound of the wind. The sun has now risen and I can feel it’s warmth on my face through the windshield. My mind is still in a daze and I am unsure if I had fallen asleep or just dozed off. I look into the GPS to see what time we are due to arrive at my parents house. It says we have an hour and a half left of our trip. Enough time for me to think. As the sun gets higher into the sky, my feelings begin to sort them selves and I realize I will not cry or scream, nor will I be ecstatic to see my parents. I will talk to them as if they are family friends that I haven’t seen in a few years because they may be my biological parents but they are not my parents. I once heard on a show the quote, "Blood does not make you family.", and it is one of the most true sayings that I have ever heard.
