This production was worth doing as the director seemed to work very hard to make it the good production that it was. Many of the actors were switching between emotions on the drop of a hat and it was very impressive. The one thing I know I enjoyed most of all was the lighting that Director Michael. L. Aulick used for his scenes to emphasize the darkness. There is one problem I have with the show however. The plot just seems to do a sudden jump when we cut from Poe to William Wilson. This left me confused as I thought that the story was focused on Poe himself but then it just does a sudden cut to a completely unrelated story. I feel this brings down the overall quality of the play itself. This can cause many people in the aduince to become lost to what is going on in the story. You eventually learn whenever they say “I am Edgar Allen Poe.” The plot shifts stories. The middle story about the man losing his mind in a prison cell is also not enjoyable to me. I am not too fond of stories that leave the listener out in the dark for almost the entire story. This story seems to be one of those. Even when the story ends I was still lost trying to figure out what happened. Overall the production was worth doing and all of the actors and Director Michael Aulik worked very hard to make this an enjoyable show. I recommend that you do see this show.
