A Dream That Came True

yard line it was going to be a long drive, at least we thought. First play we faked the run to me and the defense fell for it which left our receiver wide open down the field he caught it and took it to the house! Now we were only down by seven.

As we lined up to kick the ball off we looked over at our coach and he gave us the signal to kick an onside kick. As the kicker runs to kick the ball I’m right behind him running as fast as I can. He kicks it then one of the Bobcats grab the ball, but right as he grabs hit he gets crushed and the ball flies out onto the ground I dive for it and everyone is wrestling for it. The next thing I know I’m on the bottom of a dog pile. After the referee takes everyone off the pile I’m the last one and I have the ball! Now we only have a minute and thirty seconds on the clock and we are on the fifty yard line. After a couple of pass and run plays we were on the twenty yard line with thirty seconds to go. We call our last time out we run over to the sideline, our offensive coach gives us the call to run our double reverse pass. We run out onto the field the quarterback motions a receiver towards him as he hikes the ball he hands it to him then he pitches it to me as I run toward him, as I get the ball I locate the open receiver in the end zone and throw the ball, he catches it and scores we win the game!

After that game we went undefeated and made it to the State Championship Game. It was a dream for all of us and it was finally coming true. I couldn’t believe it until we were finally there.

Now the team we were playing was C.P.A they had won the State Championship four years and a row. No one thought we had a chance. We were predicted to lose by twenty one points. That didn’t phase us though,we were coming to do what we had done to everyone else.

The first kickoff of the game they kicked it to us and I ran it back to the house a one hundred yard kick return! Then they came out on offense and about the fifth play of the drive they throw a pick to our safety and he took it all the way back for six! Now we were all excited no one thought the game was going to start off like that, but from there it only got worse for them. We kicked them the ball after that pick six and run down there and pop the runner and he loses the ball and we recover it on the twenty yard line. We run about five plays and punch it into the end zone and the first half was over.

So we come out in the second half and didn’t let off and put up seven more point to make the final score twenty eight to zero. When the game was over it kind of felt like we were in a movie. It was what we had worked so hard for. Our dream had came true.
