Major changes always take time to initiate, evaluate, and implement, and even if necessary revamp. So it is important to set short term goals that will be an encouragement to the staff and give them a sense of empowerment and accomplishment. A lot of employees will not will not be receptive of changes if the evidence that is brought to them is compelling enough for them to realize it will better the organization. And by setting short term goals that are realistic and attainable the employees and staff will feel the sense of accomplishment (Kotter,)

Conclusion

In conclusion, we can see that in order for a manager to be effective in efforts to bring about change in the organization they must recognize that takes a great deal of knowledge, and leadership skill and qualities. The Manager must be able to identify various viewpoints and be able to clearly communicate the vision he has for the organization and how those goals are going to be accomplished to the employees. Managers also need to be able to gather great amounts of information and opinions from those who are involved especially from those the changes might affect most. And when putting the changes into effect managers need to be prepared and understand that there will be different reactions to the change amongst employees. Change may not always be successful but if a manager is aware of what mistakes and failures might take place and what resources can be used to prevent them then there is a higher chance for success.
