Transnational or Borderless Corporations

As these corporations grow, they commonly draw up new strategies and methods about how to continue thriving in new countries. As such, two strategies come to light - a transnational strategy and a multidomestic strategy. With the transnational strategy, we see the supply of a popular brand of drink - coke cola. This beverage remains the same whether in the United States or China. Being sold in over 200 different countries, this drink pleases everyone as is. With the multidomestic strategy, corporations need to please individuals by culture. For instance, with McDonalds, the corporation sells a traditional hamburger sandwich with beef. In India, as the cow is viewed as sacred, there must be another alternative sandwich without beef otherwise the business will see much popularity. As the company does more research and the new menus begin to attract the locals, sales slowly begin to rise (Hartman, 2014).
While certain companies continue to grow and expand into new territories at exponential rates, many individuals begin to wonder what lies on the horizon. A New York Stock Exchange poll surveyed employees working in the top multinationals across the globe about whether or not their company was appealing and rewarding to work for. Microsoft finished at first place with other corporations such as Google and FedEx finishing at 4th and 5th, respectively. Employees placed faith as well as workplace culture and attitude into the poll describing their careers as not only a job but custom and service to others. With the current state of economy, it's easy to place blame on greedy corporations off shoring much needed jobs in order to cut corners on finance but it's often difficult to remember that given the same scenario, many individuals would follow suit.
