To provide guidance to employees on business ethics
-
And to help employees avoid situations that would put them in a compromising situation or in a position, which would be outside of Company policy. It is also intended to give Purchasing staff clear guidance on what offers (gifts, incentives, etc.) or prizes are acceptable with no approval required, acceptable with approval, or unacceptable.
This Policy define in really easy way so it is easy to understand.
Financial Responsibility:-
The economic impact of the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) in Western Canada is defined by the jobs it creates, amount it reinvests in communities and equity it returns to its members. FCL has over 3,300 employees with over 24,500 employed across the CRS. Since 2010, FCL and retail co-operatives have reinvested almost $5 billion in communities through capital investments. FCL has returned $2.4 billion to its members in the past five years, with retail co-ops returning almost $1.2 billion to their individual members since 2010. In 2014, FCL achieved a record $10.8 billion in sales.
At FCL they clearly define their financial responsibility and require Prefinancial approval before purchase any material or service for capital project.
Human Rights
The Company, in exercising its responsibility as an employer, endeavours at all times to provide a work environment, which is supportive of both productivity and the personal goals, dignity, and self-esteem of every employee. CCRL is committed to a healthy, harassment-free work environment for all staff. To this extent, CCRL has developed this policy with the intention of preventing sexual and personal harassment of its employees and to deal quickly and effectively with any incident involving harassment. Employees who harass co-workers or other individuals at work will be disciplined.
Safety:-
FCL cares about employee and community health and safety, working to improve its performance and developing safety culture across its business. Health and safety policy incorporates 15 principles which aim to protect the health, safety and well-being of employees, associates and communities, ensuring everyone goes home injury-free at the end of every day. FCL strives to uphold the highest standards by developing comprehensive policies; providing employee resources, offering training and support; monitoring and evaluating performance; and celebrating safe performance and successes.
Refinery is also part of FCL and over there they require some extra caution than any other place at FCL so CCRL introduce 12 lifesaving rules for safety of their employee. And implementation of these rules is part of the co-op refinery’s commitment for continuous improvement in health and safety and to contribute to strengthening our safety culture.
But still at the refinery they don’t have cellphone use policy which is really important now a days as our last incident happened at refinery by cellphone usage.

Water is a necessity for many industrial processes, including those at the Co-op Refinery Complex. As part of being a good environmental steward, FCL is being diligent in taking the steps to conserve local water supplies. The Wastewater Improvement Project (WIP) at the Co-op Refinery Complex is a $200-million project that will reduce fresh water use, minimize odours from the existing wastewater ponds and limit outgoing wastewater by recycling 65 per cent of the CRC’s wastewater. This is only one example of investments in environmentally focused projects and initiatives across facilities and business operations. - See more at: http://crs.coopconnection.ca/srr-environmental.html#sthash.m9S8Afox.dpuf
