- Green Accounting

I also like this topic because this is something we don’t encounter every day in school and I find this interesting to learn. As future accountants, I realized that we should not just focus on how to provide reliable financial information but also remember on how to help our beloved environment. Learning the basics of Green Accounting is an eye opener for me because it made me realized that even being not a professional environmentalist, I could help in preserving the environment and fight against climate changes. As a future accountant, I want to take part and do something on how companies would package their products and manage their wastes in order that it would lessen the harm it is doing with our surroundings. For me, Green Accounting is an important matter which should be given more attention to raise aware and find help.

- Business Analytics

I find the topic about business analytics complicated because it is new for me. This topic has not been discussed in our other classes until my classmates reported and gave us a discussion about it. I have learned that business analytics is a wide range of skills, technologies, applications and processes used by organizations to gain insight in to their business based on data. This is different from the traditional accounting techniques of forecasting that is being taught to us that’s why I find it complex. But I am glad that we had this as one of the topics presented for this helped us understand what business analytics means.

- Role of Accounting in Regulations – This is my topic.

- Corporate Governance Problems encountered by Top 5 Corporations in the Philippines

Corporations in the Philippines are not exempted from having issues regarding their corporate governance. In this topic, I have learned that the biggest companies here in our country is being challenged on how to maintain the integrity of their corporate governance. For me, this topic is important because our profession may require us to deal with top management decisions and how to abide with regulating agencies and financial reporting standards. It is important for us to know the causes of these issues and how those companies managed to lessen or even solved it. I have also learned that corporate governance problems are not easy to resolve especially when it involves users of information.
