Lastly, charitable giving is of great importance to John Deere and their employees. John Deere is known for giving in many ways. As a local example, John Deere gave the money to build an auditorium in the University of Northern Iowa Business Building. They also have a professorship with a UNI business professor. Globally, John Deere has stepped foot into helping with world hunger, improving education, and creating better communities (“Philanthropy”, 2016). In 2011, it was said that John Deere had a budget of $20 million dollars per year for such giving (Menon, 2011). On example of charitable giving that John Deere is a part of is Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP). John Deere gives $500,000 annually to this fund which helps in times of disasters such as Hurricane Matthew in 2016 (“Hurricane Matthew Not Over”, 2016).

John Deere has created a name for themselves over the years. They have become well know, and they have retained many loyal customers. Over the years, John Deere has become a corporation known around the world making it a place that many graduates find appealing to work. Everyone wants to find their workplace to be a respectable company that holds a good corporate social responsibility. John Deere is known for their social responsibility through technology, environmental responsibilities, customer service, and charitable giving.
