TESCO aimed toward the natural environment and taking into consideration every dimension of how a business operates in the social, cultural, and economic environment. TESCO always improve their environment performance by integrating environment principles, program and practices into their company business culture. In 2007, long-term target of TESCO is to reduce the carbon footprint of the business which targeted to reduce the emissions of the products in its supply chain by 30% by 2020 and become a zero carbon business by 2050. To achieve the objective, TESCO sought alternative in distribution system with greener methods of transport, such as using the Manchester canal to make shipment. TESCO also utilized renewable energy to makes its distribution system more carbon efficiency. (The Institute of Grocery Distribution , 2008).

Look for another example, the opening of TESCO Cabra in worldwide. Cabra is a zero carbon store, which mean that the store emits zero net CO2 from its operations. The store features a host of cutting-edge, environmentally friendly technologies, which help to maintain a zero carbon footprint from the store’s operations. As result, TESCO produce less pollution to the environment and achieved the total of CO2 emission reduction of 40.9% compared against the 2013 and 2014 baseline. (Dudovskiy, Research Methodology, 2016)

In the effort to create greener environment and increase public awareness on environment issues, Tesco promoting shopper to use reusable carrier bag while shopping and getting the reward through collecting Green Clubcard points for each reusable bag . “No plastic bag” campaign also launched by TESCO for every Saturday to encourage shopper to “act” and “think” green. The objective of the campaign was to create awareness on the importance of conserving the environment and encourage society recycle, reuse and at the same time, preserve the environment. This alternative can reduce the amount of plastic bags that end up in landfills. (Lim, 2016)

In conclusion, the sustainability practices is an important part for each company. Sustainability practices like a business approach that can applies for companies to create long-term consumer and employee value by creating a "green" strategy. Those companies who adopt and applying sustainable business practice will become more efficient and competitive in the market. At the same time, it will improve customer loyalty and increase the reputation of the companies. However, the responsibility and duties of preserve environment of the planet not only borne by the corporation but also include individuals, organizations and related authorities. All parties should possess ethical behavior in utilizing Earth’s resources without jeopardize to nature, flora and fauna.
