It’s a middle Eastern folk and It’s one of the tales in the book of One thousand and One nights and the best known. Aladdin is a poor guy in China that is recruited by a sorcerer form Maghreb. Convincing Aladdin and his mother of his good will by pretending to set up the lad as a wealthy merchant.

Although sorcerer’s real plan is to persuade Aladdin to steal an oil lamp from a magic cave. When the sorcerer betrays him, Aladdin finds himself trapped in the cave. Then Aladdin is still wearing a magic ring that the sorcerer gave him. When he rubs his hands in despair, a genie appears who releases him from the cave and returns to his mother hands carrying the lamp. When the mom tries to clean the lamp for sell it and buy some food, a second and more powerful genie appears who is obligated to do the orders of the person holding the lamp. With the help of the genie, Aladdin becomes rich and marries with the Sultan’s daughter.

The sorcerer hears of Aladdin’s fortune and returns, he gets the lamp by tricking the princess and orders the genie to take the palace to his home in Maghreb. Aladdin summons the genie of the magic ring who teleports him to Maghreb and recovers the lamp and kill the sorcerer, but the sorcerer’s brother plots to kill Aladdin for revenge and he disguises himself as an old woman known for her healing powers. The princess falls in the tramp and Aladdin is warned of this danger by the genie and kills the imposter and everyone lives happily ever after.

Aladdin and the magic lamp is an history full of magic, love, richness and culture. The issue of a cheater mocked by other more modest is very common in fables. Also in others interpretations, the story is an example of person who passes from poverty from richness. From humble beginnings, the protagonist makes a success in his life, then he crosses trough a crisis that seems to have lost everything and finally he wins over adversity and accomplishes a better and more stable success in his life.
