In conclusion, most people probably won’t even know of the hidden message Katy Perry made with this song. The song will rotate on the radio, people will listen to it, sing it in the car and then it will become annoying and everyone will forget about it. It is a reality, but Katy decided to show the world that she cares, she is the first one who made that change. As we all know, her previous songs weren’t that specific as “Chained to the Rhythm”. Also, the fact that this song was written with Skip Marley who is known for peace in the world, made the song sound fifty times better. But then again, this song might have a different meaning to everyone. For some individuals, it might sound as a motivational “change yourself” motive, which has nothing to do with politics or media. On the other hand, other people might take it close to their heart and actually go outside and start protesting for no reason, which was actually Katy Perry’s intention: to inspire people. Katy did not make thing all happy and meaningless. Once people realize what she sings about, it won’t be a dance song anymore, it will be more of a motivational serious message to today’s society. Also, Katy Perry most likely gained new older fans after the release of the song, who support her message and who agreed with it.
