TRIAXIAL CABLES

Nowadays, the use of new technologies and applications offered on the internet has led to several software updates, as well as devices, connectors and more. It is for this reason that the triaxial cables were manufactured in the last times. One of the advantages of this cable is that it provides a greater bandwidth than its predecessor coaxial cable. In this essay the main characteristics of the triaxial cable as well as its construction will be analyzed.

General

The triaxial cable is basically formed by a conductive core, an insulation cover, a conductive mesh on it, another insulation covering the previous mesh, a more conductor and finally a protective cover. It provides a greater bandwidth and has the quality of not having too much interference in relation to the coaxial cable.

The differences that may exist between both cables is that the coaxial cable has a conductor and an insulation less than the triaxial, which makes the triaxial can provide greater bandwidth and is less susceptible to interference. But on the other hand it is more expensive than the coaxial cable.

One of the advantages offered by the triaxial cable is that it can be transmitted simultaneously in one direction as in another, that is, Full-duplex.

It has an FDM (Frequency-Division Multiplexing) type which means that it causes the frequency ranges of each user to be superimposed.

Characteristics

* Common triaxial cable sizes include 14mm, 11mm and 8mm.

* The resistance can vary as well, such as 50 ohms, 75 ohms and 90 ohms cables

* El escudo exterior cubre el "coax" dentro y puede agregar una medida extra de protección.

Construcción
