Men are usually the ones responsible for the weeding party from renting the hall to deciding the dishes in the dinner menu. When the waited day comes, the bride goes to a salon to get prepared. She colors her face with make up and do her hair, so she looks more beautiful. The bride wears a luxurious, breathtaking, long white dress, and she wears the crown that is studded with diamonds over her head to become the princess of that special day. Gusts start to arrive to the hall at nine in the evening. Women dance and talk until twelve o’clock. The bride comes down through the stairs as an angel lands from the sky. The bride sit for an hour before she leaves the hall toward her new kingdom. After spending sometime with the bride, guests are getting invited to the dinner hall. Depending on the number of gusts, the number of lamb is counted. Usually around twelve sheep is slaughtered for men’s dinner. On the other hand, an endless buffet consists of traditional and nontraditional main dishes, bar salad and different kind of sweet is served for women in the wedding’s party. The end of the weeding is the beginning of the new life for the lovely hybrid.

In the end, marriage is a ritual that keeps the life on the earth. It had started form belonging Eve to Adam who was the father of all humans. Until this day, humans live by mingling two souls. Marriage adds a sweet test to human’s live by providing love. In Saudi Arabia, the union of two souls usually starts with a phone call and that phone call would always puts two hearts together. However, before the contract is signed, the man and the woman must see each other and get to know the other person. I could say it’s the Saudi version of what we know as the first date. If everything goes well and the two are comfortable, they move to the next step. After the contract is signed, the couple is officially married and the man is the one who takes care of providing the things that are needed after the wedding’s night such as the place in which the couple will live in. Getting married in Saudi is a very long and complicated process which is very different from other cultures.
