Furthermore, the UK can be seen a democratic because of pressure groups (Pressure groups are organizations which campaign for changes in the law or new legislation in specific areas), on one hand it provides a which a group of people can have a strong influence on the public opinion and voting behavior and in some cases can force the government to change legislation which they believe are wrong or immoral such as what happen in Poland after the protest over the new abortion legislation which was scrapped and also led to a change in behavior over in this incident. But one the other hand pressure groups tend to present only one-sided arguments. This means that they sometimes give a distorted voice to the few people that are involved in such groups. Another way the UK can be seen as democratic is through devolution, because on the one hand it is more democratic because government will be brought closer to the people and it distributes the power between the other countries that create the UK, but on the other hand the power that is distributed is limited and they don’t have full power for example the UK nuclear weapons are held in Scotland and when the Scottish MP voted all but voted to remove them from Scotland but they were kept in Scotland

In conclusion, I believe the UK is democratic to an extent because for as you can see for every issue I stated you can interpret it as how they UK is undemocratic, so I believe there are many positive to the UK political system but the is still a long way to go before I can say with no doubt in my mind that UK is democratic.
