Ozone depletion is an ongoing problem in Australia and that is why people use sunscreens in summer. People in Australia have been affected by skin cancer before and the cause was found just recently. Even though the number of skin cancer patients has been reduced, it does not change the fact that people are spending money to protect themselves.
- Solution:
Scientists are coming up with so many solutions that people do not even know what to do. But some solutions are helpful and understandable by a normal person who has no prior knowledge. One of the solutions is fermentation of ethanol to form bioethanol. Production process of bioethanol absorbs CO2 from air and sends it back into air once combusted.
Another solution is using renewable energy sources to prevent extra emission. Even though renewable energy sources produce less energy, they will be available for a long time unlike fossil fuels which will run out.
- Conclusion:
Even if we switched to renewable energy sources, the CO2 concentration will not go down. Therefore, it is our job to keep the CO2 concentration the same. If we keep polluting air, then the future generations will suffer and all our efforts to stop the increasing CO2 concentration will be in vain. The best way to keep the CO2 concentration same is to stop using fossil fuels for some 100 years so that we can turn the earth to how it was before. Only CO2 was used as a greenhouse gas because it is the most commonly known greenhouse gas.
