As I have stated previously, having a society that is driven by profit, greed and with money many things tend to change. Being from the 1% in society it brings great advantages and with those advantages comes wealth and power. This is knowns as Oligarchy, those few elites are the ones who have and control the wealth. Like I stated before, money talks. The capitalist have great influence in in politics and the government. For example, in political campaigns they help the politician that they want to win in their own benefit by offering them financial help. By helping that politician to win and be in office, is a big advantage for them because now they have someone in the government. This is where the capitalist gain a benefit because they have the power influence law making decisions. The rich easily dominate in changing policies and laws. They have the resources to buy out the government. It had been said that Oligarchy was how society was ruled, but researchers state that Plutocracy is the correct term. Plutocracy is a government by or in the interest of the rich. The government is the key element between the rich and the enormous power and influence they have in society as a whole. The government “ignores” what does not benefit them. The government benefits from the wealthy so there is an incentive for them to overlook certain social problems in society to have that good relationship with the elite which they are contributing for billionaires to get richer and richer. While the 99 percent of society is struggling to have a decent living in this world.
