I think “it depend on method.” Because children are very curious so want to know even just small thing. And they should try to find the answer through many books or their own experience. When they do that by themselves, they can keep it min for a long time. And they can know anther new thing through that process. But these days using their computer or smart phone, they find the information easily. Of course it is very speed and comfortable. But, it is just for a moment. They are going to forget the information that they find so easily. It is not their’s. This phenomenon will affect to children to be lazy. And even they don’t want to try to find something that they want to know and lose their curious. Later it will be harmful.
Secondly, new technology take away valuable time from interacting with friends and family and learning how to deal with relationship face to face. Some years ago an American researcher, David Putnam, wrote a book called Bowling Alone in which he argues that people no longer socialize and meet others as they once did. One reason sporting clubs and community groups have declined, he argues, is because of TV and the fact that midnights families get their entertainment at home.
, on the internet, there are a lot of harmful information and website. It is absolutely not good for children. Mason said Nowadays, most of kids aged 2-3 years have familiarized themselves with internet, and playing cell phone and video games. Technology has advanced, and children have acquired lot of knowledge. For instant, my little angel Cindy aged 3years old can operate my phone, and moreover plays play station 3. She takes my phone without my realization and gets to Whatsapp and watches educative videos, and then narrates to me what she has seen with a lot of excitement. Due to watching these videos, her thinking capacity has improved, hence improving her way of talking compared with other kids who have not familiarized themselves with the technology (Mason, 2012)
Jurgenson said, Teenagers are often victimized when socializing with these potential offenders, and are put off after helping themselves out.The opponents of this positions when asked the questions, “Can kids really learn more according to how they use the internet through being socialized? Their outright answer is, no.Most of the kids are addicted to computers, phones and other electronic devices compared to playing on the ground and meeting people (Jurgenson, 2012).
In fact, internet has benefited today’s kids especially those who do not easily catch up with classroom teachings. In other words, it doesn’t just bring to satisfaction of their need to know more about life, but also improves kids’ way of living in an enjoyable way. Thus with technology a kid may gain knowledge at the age of 2-3years of internet study and socializing of which he or she would have spent more than 7-8years of attending sessions in the class so as to acquire this knowledge. Internet is available anytime and in a wide range of areas, and less time consuming. All of the information is available in an easier and in a simple language for one to understand hereby, it brings satisfaction to the kid’s yearning for knowledge and understanding his world in a wide range, often without any assistant from a teacher.however, its an independent teaching technique which can successfully supplemement sessions experiences.
According to researchers Howard, Agarwal, & Hussain, children who have familiarized themselves with internet, work smarter and make new friends faster compared to those who don’t know how to operate a phone, computer and other electronic devices. However, if this aspect of knowing each other over the internet is taking miles away, it could have detrimental results as outlined below. Recently the issue of knowing each other in the internet has turned to crime and immoral activities; e.g sexual abuse, pornography, cyber crime and sexual exploitation over the internet. Many sex culprits use the technology as a snare for the victims who are unacquainted and have feeling to socialize with strangers (Howard, Agarwal, & Hussain, 2011).
The internet and technology have emerged as the most used services in the modern world. In a way or another, almost all human actions are depended on computers or other sorts of technology. The fast growth in technology has exposed most young children to the use of internet. In fact, almost every child in present world has ipod or tablet or has got access to internet on daily basis. This leads to question whether internet has helped children to be smart, or has just increased socialization. Actually, everyday children are busy on the internet, but the question remains, are they learning anything, or they are socializing with their peers? Spencer 2013

The side effects of constant media exposure in children continues to be a growing public health concern. In the past 20 years, Internet usage among children has steadily increased. More than two-thirds of 8-year-old children go online each day, according to a study by the nonprofit Joan Ganz Cooney Center. The relationships between Internet use and physical or social aftereffects are complicated, but some facts are starting to reveal themselves.
As children spend more time in front of computer monitors, they typically spend less time in physical activities. The sedentary lifestyle associated with computer usage can be a prime risk factor for obesity, according to clinical psychologist Kaleyvani Geeseeny Sawmy, author of "The Impact of Internet Use on Children/Adolescents." Furthermore, computer use is linked to both repetitive motion injuries like carpal tunnel and eye strain. For some children, the rapidly flashing images of certain websites and games can trigger epileptic seizures, according to authors of "The Impact of Home Computer Use on Children’s Activities and Development," published by Princeton University.
