==========

A doctor is a professional who attempts to maintain and restore human health through the study, diagnosis, and treatment of the patient's illness or injury. In Spanish, colloquially, these professionals are also called doctors, although the doctorate was not obtained. The doctor is a professional highly qualified in sanitary matters, that is able to give generally correct and fast answers. Health, through decisions usually taken in conditions of great uncertainty, and that need long-term continuous training of their working life.

To be a doctor ... means to be noble, to be honest, to be generous, to be sympathetic, to identify with the pain of others, to move before the tears, to be in solidarity with those who suffer, with the disabled, with the sick, ??

Being a doctor is: after God, you doctor? It means to be admired, to be hope, to be support, to be warm, to be able to help recover our health ... to be an instrument of God, to maintain the life He has given us.

Of the professions, the noblest; Of trades the most vile ??.

The patient seeks in the doctor an affectionate look, which offers him solidarity; An attentive ear, to hear his sorrows; A strong hand, which is tended to receive heat; A word of encouragement, that nourishes his hope; A fraternal attitude, to feel human ... that serves as a support to continue fighting.

Being a doctor is being different. It is not possible to understand what doctors do. To be able to think, to act, to execute, in the midst of the confusion that illness means; In the midst of tears, sweat, blood, pain, stench, drunkenness, madness, shouting, despair, in that dreadful Dantesque scenario, which can be any emergency service of Any hospital. Live with passion, the challenge of facing the punishment that God imposed on Adam and Eve for their daring: the disease, you will suffer ...

To be a doctor you have to be in essence. You can not be a doctor, because I think it's interesting to be a doctor. The exercise of this profession would become unbearable, if the vocation of being a doctor is not carried in the blood.

It is that medicine has to be this way. A profession so rich, so alive, so exciting, can not be conceived without the willingness to live fully, with all its challenges, emotions, frustrations, limitations, satisfactions ... it is because of all this that it is so absorbing. That is why it is difficult to be understood by those who have not been seduced by it.

In medical practice, you never reach the end of the road; There will always be an unresolved problem; Always the same disease, will be different in another patient; Never an experience will be entirely valid in another situation; Sometimes, and only sometimes, we will be in position to establish a certain forecast. And this is precisely what the challenge of medicine means, and from there what is exciting is its exercise.

The only truly certain thing in medical practice is that the greatest joy imaginable will always be derived from the satisfaction that is capable of producing the exercise of human solidarity.

What skills do you have to face the profession?

1. Thirst for knowledge

As they say, "every person is a world", something that applies also to the human body. Not all respond equally to the same parameters. For that reason, doctors spend their entire professional career studying, pending new advances and emerging drugs, with the aim of being able to better and more efficiently serve their patients.

2. Empathy

Doctors deal with people who suffer from a medical condition. These professionals attend to a multitude of people every day and that can sometimes make them "harden" in the face of the distress of others. It is true that the problems presented by the patients will not always be extremely serious, but regardless of that, doctors should try to convey understanding and safety to the patient.

3. Professional Ethics

The requirement of ethics in the health professions reaches a superlative point. The best known aspect of professional secrecy, whose goal is to achieve total trust between the patient and the doctor. There is no forgetting that the latter handle confidential data such as medical records, tests and treatments that compromise the patient. In order to formalize the ethical commitment of the professional, the recent graduates carry out the Hippocratic oath.

4. Responsibility

Among all the skills a doctor must have, responsibility has a special place. These professionals are, above all, human, and can make mistakes during the development of their work. Unfortunately, a difference from other sectors, doctors can not be reversible and carry very serious consequences for both the patient and the treating physician.

5. Perfectionism

To avoid cases of malpractice it is important also that the perfectionist medicine professional sea and pay attention to every little detail that can help a diagnosis of a good ailment.

In essence, as Avicenna said "Medicine is the art of preserving health and eventually curing the disease that has occurred in the body."

Objective

The main objective of the physician, and of medicine by extension, is "to take care of the patient's health and to alleviate his suffering. The doctor seldom cures, some relieves, but must always console."
